May the Fourth be with you! Ah... get it? I suppose not. I bet I am the only one who is going to even get that joke. You know, force but with a lisp? No offense to anyone who actually has a lisp, I know they aren't fun. I have a reoccurring lisp that creeps into my speech ever so often which I guess isn't too much to complain about, but still... not fun!
So I decided that I am either going to submit that poem I shared with you all in the previous post or I will share a short story that I am writing at the moment which is being written in high hopes of being submitted!
This short story I am writing is about a girl who is visited by a missionary trying to convert her to his own religion. Storm sirens start to go off right as she tries to shoo him off and she knows that it is wrong to send her into the storm so they have to hide out in her basement together. It's going to be a long storm...
So here's a little excerpt from the story:
"Can I help you?" I asked inquisitively. The man shuffled around with his pockets and pulled a small black book out and he opened it.
"Um..." he started. I could tell he was new at this.
"Yes?" I urged him on. The sooner I got him to start talking the sooner I could get him to leave.
"Have you heard the good news of Jesus Christ?" He stammered out. I let out a long, drawn out, internal groan. I could be fixing my dinner right now, but no, I was here talking to this "fine" specimen.
"Yes, I have. I am proudly Catholic." I told him.
"Just give me a moment ma'am. I have so much to tell you about Jesus Christ." the young man told me. I was really thinking of shutting the door in his face, but that would be rude of me.
That was when I heard the storm sirens go off.
There is just a little sneak peak to my new story, I hope you guys enjoy it! I will perhaps share all of it if I win the literary contest! I will definitely keep you all posted though.
I bid you all adieu for I shall see you all again with my next blog post!
more! I had no idea you were such a good writer! that is definitely an experience that all of us has had... :D
